For Democrats and others on the left who understand the importance of keeping Tom Tiffany out of the governor’s office, David Crowley’s weakness on data centers is frustrating and baffling. If over 50% of donations since he reentered the field are from groups who want to see data center construction, that may explain why he hasn’t taken a stronger stance.

Democrat Party approval ratings cratered before socialist candidates injected some enthusiasm and raised the numbers. They have yet to internalize that triangulation doesn’t work, and there is no version of being a moderate that will win over Republicans.

Most candidates invoked Tiffany’s name as they made clear that they were the ones best equipped to face this existential threat…Trust me, he isn't that interesting - it is plain to see that Tom Tiffany isn’t some terrifying giant coming down from the mountains to thwart a Democratic hopeful, he is just a guy. Furthermore he doesn't have the best support network backing him up.

It is very early in the year and there are dozens of candidates between the 8 races, so for now we’re just giving first-glimpse looks. We hope to get more in-depth later. 

We’re betting that Francesca Hong will not only re-invigorate disillusioned Democrats and left activists to whoop her milquetoast rivals in the primary, but will also tap into anti-elite sentiment across the political spectrum to clobber Tiffany in the general. It looks like she’s got a good start on both.
